Gardening, Breakfast & After School Club’s

Forest School & Gardening Club

The children have the opportunity to visit three forest school sites; a small woodland site in Hailey Park as well as two special areas on the school site.  Through hands-on learning experiences the children develop a greater understanding of nature and the environment as well as developing practical life skills.

The same principles apply to the Gardening Club that takes place as part of the enrichment afternoon.  The children have been developing a school garden successfully learning how to grow a wide range of produce.

Breakfast Club

Breakfast Club is free, funded by the Welsh Government.  Breakfast is provided in the school from 8.10am onwards with the last serving being at 8.40am, thereby allowing children 10 minutes to eat their breakfast before school starts at 8.50am.  Enrolment forms can be obtained from the school office.

Hawthorn After School Club

The club is run by a non profit making management committee.  This takes place in school closing at 6.00pm.  There is a charge for this facility (currently £7.50 per session).  Information packs can be obtained from the school office.  The club is proving to be very successful and popular.
