We had a great time in Llancaiach Fawr this week. We learned lots more information for our topic and really enjoyed making Sweetmeats and herb scented plague cloths.
We had a fantastic trip to the Brecon Beacons National Park. First we went pond dipping and found a great variety of mini beasts. We found pond skaters, beetle larvae, common newts and a young Great Crested newt to name a few. Then we learnt about bats and how they use echolocation to fly around and find their prey. After that we made lovely bookmarks using different wild grasses and flowers and finally we made some natural collages. Here are some photos of our day.
We had a great time in St. Fagans learning about the way people in Wales have lived throughout history. We especially enjoyed visiting the Celtic roundhouse.
